January was such a busy month for me. My little family packed up and moved from our home of 3 years.  To be honest, I hate moving.  Since getting married almost 10 years ago we have moved about 5 times.  It’s not fun, well at least the moving part is not.  Along with all the change comes excitement though, and I can’t lie, I am a bit excited of what the future holds for my family.

Right after our move in, we held a camp theme birthday party for my big 7-year-old Luis.  It was so much fun.

As far as decor, we tried our best to make it feel like we were at a campground rather than our backyard.  We found some log stumps on Craigslist and used them to decorate our party table .  

I found this wood sign at Michael’s and asked my husband to stain it. I then created and printed the letters and Mod Podged them on.

Since this is the first birthday party my boys have had outdoors, they absolutely had to have a piñata.  It was filled with all their favorite candy.

We also set up a tarp and projector so the kids could watch a movie as they ate their second round of smores that night.

The smore’s were actually the biggest success of the party.  They loved it!

I found these sparklers online thanks to my brother and used them on the cake.  Luis couldn’t have been happier.  All in all the party was a huge success.

The Month of Love and New Projects at SPT

I have been getting a lot of requests lately since moving into the month of February for last years Valentine’s printable bookmarks.

Since my move this month I have also began to reorganize all our household files and have been looking into the best method that is going to work with my paper flow.  Even though most of my bills are actually paid online, there still has to be a method in place to organize all the paperwork.  I am actually in the middle of creating some printable for my finances, and that means more printables in the future.

I love the month of February, not so much because of Valentine’s Day but because love is in the air! How about you, do you enjoy Valentine’s day or do you think it’s a bunch of commercialized hype?
